Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti of University of
Calcutta, India, gave an on-line course on "Machine Learning" to the
Kyutech students in November and December of 2020. As part of the initiative of
DISC to make full use of virtual learning for GCE (Global Competency for
Engineer) enhancement, Prof. Chakrabarti was invited to give this 8-session
course completely virtually via Skype from his home university in Kolkata,
India. This course gave a comprehensive introduction to various topics in
machine learning to enable them to design and implement machine learning
solutions to classification, regression, and clustering problems. Targeted to
senior undergraduate and graduate students, the sessions were attended by over
20 students both from University of Calcutta and Kyushu Institute of
Technology. Based on this success, DISC will continue to expand on-line
learning and exchange opportunities for students to expose them to world-class
experts and educators, and familiarize them with more and more virtualized work
environments in a post-pandemic world.

2018 International Symposium on Dependable Integrated Systems will be held
on the Iizuka Campus of Kyushu Institute of Technology. Prof. Adit Singh
(Auburn University, USA), Prof. Nguyen Duc Minh (Hanoi University of Science
and Technology, Vietnam) will give invited talks, followed by research
presentations from the Dependable Integrated Systems Research Center (DISC).

Kyoritsu University. He gave an introduction of sports performance measurement
and processing technology demands and solutions in his special lecture

for Sports Applications." at the Kyushu Institute of Technology Tenjin
satellite.

2015 International Symposium on Dependable Integrated Systems was held
on the Iizuka Campus of Kyushu Institute of Technology. Prof. Reddy (University

Prof. Bui (Vietnam Academic of Science and Technology), and Mr. Kimura
(Cloud Testing Service) gave invited talks, followed by research presentations

Jan. 30, 2015
A proposal for the promotion of research exchange between DISC and the
Institute of Computer Architecture and Computer Engineering of the University
of Stuttgart, Germany has been accepted. This project will cover travel
expenses in the fiscal years 2015 and 2016 for members of DISC visiting
University of Stuttgart. We are looking forward to fruitful collaborative
research between Japan and Germany.

Germany visited the center today. Mr. Schneider gave a special lecture
on the topic "Massive Throughput Computing: GPUs and their Application

The Call for Paper and Call for Proposals for Special Sessions have been published. APCCAS is - same as ISCAS - a flagship conference of the IEEE CAS Society and will be held on Ishigaki-Island in Okinawa.
